Well, well, well, in a surprise news conference this morning, Barack Obama finally produced what appears to be his long form birth certificate. Call me a cynic, but I just don’t buy it. Why, after two years of legal petitioning by American citizens, after one man’s military career was ruined, did Barack Obama finally decide to provide a copy of what everyone had been asking for? Was it because Donald Trump was making so much noise that Mr. Obama finally had to do something to shut him up?
Still, I don’t buy it. It may be an official document, issued by the proper authorities in Hawaii, but that doesn’t mean the information on it is genuine and accurate. You know, when I was stationed in the Philippines I know of many instances when under age women, who wished to marry an American serviceman, would pay someone to alter information on an, otherwise accurate, birth certificate so that they appeared to be legally old enough to marry. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit that this is exactly what happened in this instance as well, that to put this issue to rest once and for all a backdated forged document was produced showing that Barack Obama was indeed born in Hawaii. If you ask me, something about this whole thing stinks; it is just too damn convenient for my cynical nature.
Whether or not Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii, as he claims, here are the facts which cannot be denied. On August 4, 1961, when Barack Obama was born, his father was a Kenyan citizen. At that time, Kenya was still a colony of Britain; therefore, according to the British Nationality Act of 1948 Barack Obama Sr. was a British citizen. That act also governed the status of all children born to British subjects.
According to that act, “.—(1) Subject to the provisions of this section, a person born after the commencement of this Act shall be a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies by descent if his father is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies at the time of the birth.”
However, since his mother was of American birth, Mr. Obama held dual citizenship. Upon reaching the age of 21 Mr. Obama was required to make a choice to which country he would owe allegiance. Now this is tricky, because technically he was a British/Kenyan citizen at this time. So he would either have to swear allegiance to Kenya and renounce his British citizenship, or swear allegiance to Kenya and lose his British citizenship. Either way, upon his 21st birthday in 1982, he would either become a Kenyan citizen, or a British citizen.
But I’m not done quite yet. According to the British Home Office, up until 1983, the position regarding citizens of former British colonies was stated as “1.1 When a former British colony, associated state, protectorate etc, achieved independence within the Commonwealth, and made its own citizenship laws, a corresponding Independence Act was passed in the United Kingdom to deal with the consequences, e.g.:
• To include the name of the newly independent country in s.1(3) of the BNA 1948; and, if necessary
• To remove it from the list of protectorates etc in the current British Protectorates, Protected States and Protected Persons Order; and
• To withdraw citizenship of the United Kingdom and Colonies from certain people who became citizens of the new country.”
Furthermore, according to a document from the European Court of Justice, “… The Kenya Independence Act, passed by the British Parliament, removed UK and Colonies citizenship only from a person who ‘on the appointed day [the date of independence] ….becomes a citizen of Kenya’. This ensured that at the date of independence a person born in Kenya would either acquire Kenyan nationality, or would retain UK and Colonies citizenship. …”
According to the Kenyan Constitution, when Kenya gained its independence in 1963, “Every person who, having been born in Kenya, is on 11th December, 1963 a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies or a British protected person shall become a citizen of Kenya on 12th December, 1963…”
But, since Mr. Obama claims to be born in Hawaii, how does this apply to him? Although Supreme Court rulings have declared the children cannot lose their citizenship status due to actions of their parents, Mr. Obama still claims, to at one time, been an Indonesian citizen.
In documents released by Occidental College Barack Obama, or Barry Soetoro, (you choose) received a fellowship for foreign students by the Fulbright Foundation. To qualify for these funds a student must claim foreign citizenship. So, was he lying then, or now? If he was lying about his citizenship status so that he could qualify for financial aid, then he is guilty of fraud. If he is lying now, then he lost his citizenship as an American and is ineligible to be president.
Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution clearly states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”
What exactly is a natural born citizen? In 1862, in comments made in the House of Representatives, former Congressman John Bingham stated, “Who are natural-born citizens but those born in the Republic? […] [P]ersons born within the Republic, of parents owing allegiance to no other sovereignty, are natural born citizens. Gentleman can find no exception to this statement touching natural-born citizens except what is said in the Constitution relating to Indians.”
In a later statement made in 1866, Mr. Bingham clarified his comments by saying, “Every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen.”
Notice that Mr. Bingham said parents, not parent. He also said that the parents must owe allegiance to no other sovereignty. To whom did Barack Obama Sr. owe his allegiance? To whom did Stanley Ann Dunham? For that matter, by his failure to uphold the Constitution one might ask themself to whom does Barack Obama owe his allegiance. But that is another issue entirely and best left to be discussed another time.
This whole issue is, confusing, at best. At worst it is a fraud of the magnitude this country has never before witnessed. Whether you are one who blindly accepts that Barack Obama is indeed an American citizen, or one who will deny it as long as you live, it is funny how it took an outspoken celebrity to bring the issue to the forefront.
Think about it for a moment, if Barack Obama is guilty of being ineligible to hold the office of president, why didn’t someone in our government speak out about it? Why wasn’t it a major campaign issue for Hillary Clinton when she was running against him for the Democratic nomination for president? Why weren’t the Republicans, and yes, even the Tea Party favorite Ron Paul, who supposedly bases all his actions upon the Constitution, crying out for proof of Obama’s eligibility? It makes you wonder how deep the corruption and how powerful are the people who wanted to see Obama get elected.
I honestly don’t think we’ll hear the truth, not in my lifetime anyway. That is of course unless those who truly run our government want Obama gone, then they’ll make the truth known and he will be criminally indicted. Otherwise the Obama mystery will be relegated to the archives of unsolved conspiracies, along with the unknown shooters on the grassy knoll. My intent was just to get you to think about the facts, not how your emotions influence your thought process.
I know I have probably pissed more people off, and gave them further reason to consider me mentally unbalanced, but that’s fine with me. I just don’t take anything that I hear in the news at face value, and I would hope that neither do you.
